Week 4 One Room Challenge #AsYouWish

The One Room Challenge is well underway, and Seth has been working hard to transform our primary bedroom into a beautiful and functional space. As we enter Week Four, we are excited to share our latest progress.

This week, we focused on two major projects: reupholstering a bench and installing wainscoting. Our goal was to add texture and depth to the space, while also creating a cozy and comfortable spot for relaxation. And yes, going to High Point has us a little behind.....but who would we be if we were on schedule?!? We like a deadline ;-)

First up was the bench. We already had bench that was sturdy and had good bones, but the fabric was ruined by a small child and a painting session. After removing the fabric and padding, we added fresh foam and batting to give it a plusher feel. Then, we reupholstered it with a bold and colorful fabric that adds some personality and playfulness to the room, from Thibaut of course.

Next, we turned our attention to the walls. We decided to add wainscoting to create a traditional and classic look that runs throughout the house. Wainscoting is a type of paneling that covers the lower part of the wall, and it can be made from many types of materials. We chose a simple design that complements the bench fabric and the overall aesthetic of the room, using 1x6 base and top horizontals, 1x3 verticals, and a eucalyptus hardboard in between (hello sustainability ☺️)

This week also included a trip to High Point, NC where I got to catch up with a couple of our sponsors! Michael with Feizy rugs and Pamela (and the whole gang!) from Thibaut! That was a treat and I loved checking out the newest product lines coming out from them!

With these two projects completed, we are now ready for the next phase: painting! We have selected a deep, saturated color for the walls that will add richness and depth to the space. We can't wait to see the transformation.

Overall, we are thrilled with the progress we've made during Week Four of the One Room Challenge. It's amazing to see how much can be accomplished in just a few short weeks. I mean......we have made some progress but the best is yet to come! You know.....the back half!

We LOVE the hardwood floors....every time we walk through the room we stop and stare at their beauty! Sconce boxes are ready for their lighting AND Beemer is coming over tomorrow to measure for our Lutron Palladium Shade!! Beyond excited!

Can't wait to check out everyones progress this week!

As always, A HUGE THANK YOU to our incredible sponsors!!
